The Grounds Beautification Ministry was created with the express goal of making the OLGC church grounds more inviting to our parishioners and guests. The circle driveway area in front of the church and the area on each side of the main church entrance were where most of our efforts had been concentrated. We initiated a major project to eliminate the overgrowth near the main entrance to the church, put in roses and easier to maintain landscape, planted sod inside the circle, installed a paver border around the inside edge of the circle and planted shrubs in the configuration of our church initials, ‘OLGC’.
Currently, individuals and families have adopted new areas and are responsible for their own design and maintenance. Plaques identifying the owners are now in place.
We are in constant need of new members even those who have little or no landscaping skills but who want our church to have a welcoming look.
