The Word of God is as relevant and fitting for children as it is for adults. However, children often don’t hear the message because the adult vocabulary is beyond their comprehension. Children’s Liturgy of the Word is an opportunity for kids ages 5 to 10 to hear the same readings their parents hear at Mass, but in words they understand, followed by activities to help them reflect on what they’ve just heard.
Children come to Mass with their families and are then dismissed to Pod 7 with two adult volunteer leaders prior to the readings. They will return to their seats to celebrate the Liturgy of the Eucharist with their families.
No sign-up or fee is required.
Program Dates: from September 11, 2016 through May 21, 2017
Time: during the 10:00 a.m. Mass
Please be assured that your child’s safety during this activity is our priority. Children’s Liturgy leaders are certified through the Diocese Protecting God’s Children program, which includes course work, FDLE background check and fingerprinting. There are two adult leaders in the room at all times.
